Stop Murdoch Now

12 December 2016 By CPBF Leave a Comment

Murdoch’s first attempt to buy out Britain’s monopoly satellite broadcasting platform in 2011 was defeated by the unravelling ‘phone hacking scandal and a mass campaign. Now Murdoch is trying once again to consolidate his grip on the UK media in a move on Sky that was announced late last Friday afternoon, (see previous story). Culture Secreary Karen Bradley MP now has less than ten days to decide whether to issue a public interest intervention notice, (although it’s not clear whether the 10 days runs for when an application is formally notified) never-the-less it’s vital that you sign and promote the petition at: https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/stop-murdoch
