Thanks to and from unions

25 September 2018 By CPBF Leave a Comment

We want to thank the Unite GPM&IT Sector and Unison (Scottish Region) for the financial support to produce the final issue of Free Press. We received this statement from Tony Burke, Unite Assistant General Secretary:

Unite and its GPM&IT Sector is sad to see the ending of the Campaign For Press and Broadcasting Freedom, after many years of working with the Campaign, and our sister unions from the days of the NGA and Sogat print unions. The CPBF has done invaluable work in highlighting the need for the right of reply, the concentration of press and media ownership and the lack of accountability of the global ownership of the media. Unite will be working with the new campaigning group who will continue to press the case for a fair, free and fully accountable press and media here in the UK and across the world.

This article was first published in CPBF’s journal Free Press No 216.
